Yiolanda comes from Paphos, Cyprus.
She graduated in Law from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece in 2005 and obtained a Masters degree (MSc) in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom in 2013.
Before joining our Firm, Yiolanda practiced law at a reputable Law Office in Thrace, Greece.
She joined our Firm as a trainee lawyer in 2005 and she was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association and the Paphos Bar Association in 2006, after having successfully passed the relevant examinations. She has since been working in the litigation department of the Paphos office.
Yiolanda is an experienced litigator dealing with civil cases (contracts and torts) as well as criminal cases and cases in the field of administrative law, property law, probates, family law, banking law and debt collection.
She has been involved in many cases against estate agents and developers who were in breach of contract in relation to the construction and delivery of immovable property and in such cases she successfully obtained damages for her clients and the order of specific performance where appropriate.
She has also been involved in cases against banks and other financial institutions. In a recent case, Yiolanda is representing a group of action (30 cases) against a Cypriot developer and a Cypriot bank for breach of contract and negligence, and breach of duty of care in relation to the loans in Swiss Francs.
Moreover, Yiolanda is currently representing the plaintiff in a serious fraud case where the defendant with misrepresentation and fraudulent acts hacked the plaintiffs’ computers and deducted their funds and transferred them to an unknown bank account in Latvia.
On numerous occasions, in criminal cases concerning illegal employment of foreign persons, drug possession, driving under the influence of alcohol over the permitted limit, assault, damage to the property and attempted murder among others, Yiolanda achieved the acquittal of her clients or the mitigation of penalty to the imposition of a fine rather than to his/her imprisonment.
Yiolanda has participated in many seminars of Multilaw and other seminars in Greece and Cyprus. She also attended the “A Place of Sun” exhibition in London in 2009. Furthermore she attended the Seminars of Human Rights of Cyprus Bar Association and many other seminars of “Demosthenis” legal company.
She successfully obtained the GCE O’Level Certificate in English language and the equivalent Computer Certificates.
