Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission – Circular C191

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (“CySEC”) on 1st March 2017 issued Circular C-191 – Regulated Entities’ Compliance with Reporting and Other Obligations. CySEC informs its regulated entities, i.e. CIFs, ASPs, UCITS Management Companies, AIFMs, UCITS, Self-managed AIFs, Self-managed AIFLNPs, as well as companies with sole purpose of the management of AIFLNPs, that they are obliged to submit reports and comply with their reporting requirements as from the date of authorization by CySEC. To put it clearly, regulated entities must comply with their obligations as from the date of their authorization by CySEC and not from the date of commencement of their operations.
