Lorena Charalambous has extensive experience in banking and finance transactions, representing clients in international leveraged acquisition financings, asset-based financings, trade finance and general bank lending. Lorena is also greatly involved in corporate law matters, including joint ventures, corporate restructurings and M&A.
She has obtained an LLB and an LLM degree both from the University of Bristol and has been employed by Michael Kyprianou & Co LLC since 2011.
Lorena is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and the Limassol Bar Association. She speaks English, Greek and Spanish.

Some of the most important cases Lorena has been involved in are the following:
- Lorena has advised Sberbank of Russia and Sberbank Invest on the banks’ participation in the joint venture with O1 Properties, one of the largest groups of property owners and managers in Russia, and the financing and acquisition of a share in the company's capital, owning the White Square complex in Moscow for the total value of USD 800 million.
- Lorena was a member of the firm’s team acting as Cypriot counsel for Silk Road Fund, a state owned investment fund of the Chinese government, on the equity investment and a 15-year loan financing for the amount of EUR 1.09 billion of Russia's key new liquefied natural gas (LNG) project owned by Novatek, Russia's largest independent natural gas producer.
- Provided legal assistance and advice to a French development financial institution in relation to the sale of its stake in a Cypriot company for the amount of approximately EUR 13,000,000. Lorena was also responsible for coordinating the finalization of the sale and purchase of the shares with the other French, English and Indian advocates and law firms involved in the transaction.
